MSME registration refers to the process of registering a business or enterprise under the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development (MSMED) Act, 2006 in India. This registration provides various benefits and incentives to businesses classified as micro, small, or medium enterprises based on their investment in plant and machinery or equipment and turnover.
Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for MSME registration, a business must fall within the following criteria based on its investment in plant and machinery or equipment and turnover:
- Micro Enterprises: Investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed Rs. 1 crore and turnover does not exceed Rs. 5 crore.
- Small Enterprises: Investment in plant and machinery or equipment is more than Rs. 1 crore but does not exceed Rs. 10 crore and turnover does not exceed Rs. 50 crore.
- Medium Enterprises: Investment in plant and machinery or equipment is more than Rs. 10 crore but does not exceed Rs. 50 crore and turnover does not exceed Rs. 250 crore.
